     I liked to do an electronics mini project for automatic sleep detection circuit which is helpful for car drivers during night using 8051 microcontroller? can u help me?

Method for detection of sleepiness: measurement of interaction between driver and vehicle

The purpose with the method of patent is to discover a sleepy driving behavior. This method is based on the interaction that appears between the driver and the vehicle. The interaction consists of small spontaneous corrections with the steering wheel that in this report is called micro communication.

How well the interaction is functioning can be measured in degree of interaction, which shows how well the driver and the truck interact with each other. The interaction between the driver and the vehicle is in this report looked upon as answers and questions with a certain reaction time, which appears with a certain answered question frequency. The differences in the signal’s amplitudes are measured in variation in amplitudes.

A DVR sleep detector may comprise an electronic camera for forming images of the viewer, and pattern recognition means connected to the electronic camera to monitor the physical condition of the viewer. For example, the pattern recognition means determine whether the viewer’s eyes are open or shut.

Alternatively, the "sleep detector" may be a device wearable by the user to monitor their physical activity or physiological status. This wearable device could include one or more of the following: an accelerometer, a heat flux sensor, a galvanic skin response sensor, a skin temperature sensor and a near-body ambient temperature sensor.

Sleep detection using an adjustable threshold

Devices and methods for sleep detection involve the use of an adjustable threshold for detecting sleep onset and termination. A method for detecting sleep includes adjusting a sleep threshold associated with a first sleep-related signal using a second sleep-related signal. The first sleep-related signal is compared to the adjusted threshold and sleep is detected based on the comparison.

The sleep-related signals may be derived from implantable or external sensors. Additional sleep-related signals may be used to confirm the sleep condition. A sleep detector device implementing a sleep detection method may be a component of an implantable pulse generator such as a pacemaker or defibrillator.

No Doze EEG Sleep Detector

An appreciable difference exists between brainwaves of a person that is awake and a person that is on the verge of sleep. As a person transitions from alertness to sleep, the alpha rhythms of his/her brainwaves decrease in frequency, diminish in amplitude, and become more irregular in frequency.

These brainwave changes can be sensed using an electroencephalogram (EEG). We developed a device that will recognize the shift from wakefulness to sleep, via recognition of the frequency of the EEG signal, and then relay that information wirelessly to an alarm system. The alarm system will visually display the awareness level of the user and provide audio alerts when the user is drowsy or has falling asleep.
